Our minimalist facial care routine

We've all had days that felt like marathons: in this case, streamlining your beauty routine is a significant time saver. So to get straight to the point without hesitation, follow the guide!

DAILY LIFE

The evening…

1. Cleanse (and remove makeup)

This is the most important step: throughout the day, the skin is exposed to pollution and dust in the ambient air. In addition, it is essential to help it maintain a healthy and balanced bacterial flora (called saprophytic).

If necessary, first remove your make-up with an oil : it provides effective and gentle cleansing. Apply a little product, such as Clémence et Vivien’s Toute Douce oil , with your fingertips; massage first onto dry skin, and once all the pigments have dissolved, rinse with clean water. Dry your face by patting lightly with a towel.

As for the actual cleaning, it can be done using a cold-process superfatted soap , by hand or with a Konjac sponge for a delicate exfoliation. Of course, there are oils that remove makeup and cleanse at the same time , such as the Recette de Pureté de Cîme .

2. Tone

Then, it's time to tone your skin and remove the last traces of impurities (makeup, limescale, etc.). To do this, we recommend hydrosols or micellar waters , which allow for gentle purification.

Choose your hydrosol carefully and apply it with a cotton pad . Some tips: oily skin will be purified by peppermint , sensitive and dry skin will be soothed by cornflower and mature skin will be regenerated by immortelle .

3. Hydrate

To help your skin regenerate deeply during the night, don't forget to finish with a moisturizing treatment .

Many brands offer creams with multiple actions , which are suitable for both morning and evening and are adapted to different skin types. This is the case of Cîme , with Daisy Delight , Belle d'Amour and Under my Skin , but also Happycuriennes with its four face and eye contour creams. That of Secret Sacré , based on nigella, contains twelve precious active ingredients and is suitable for everyone.

Vegetable oils , rich in lipids, are also extremely effective in strengthening the intercellular cement of the skin. If yours has oily tendencies, opt for jojoba, hemp or hazelnut ; in the case of dry skin, sweet almond and avocado will be perfect oils. Mature skin will appreciate rosehip and argan . Finally, the most sensitive will prefer borage and calendula .

When I wake up...

1. Refresh

In the morning, there is no need to clean your skin: it is not dirty, it has simply secreted a little sebum during the night. Simply rinse your face with clear water to refresh it and prepare it for a new day.

2. Tone

The same as in the morning, or another one - depending on your mood and needs.

3. Hydrate

This time, the hydration will serve a double purpose: it will also act as a makeup base.

ONCE A WEEK (or every other week for sensitive skin)

More punctually, it is necessary to eliminate dead cells with a skin-friendly scrub . In this way, you will help your moisturizers to penetrate better, bring new cells to the surface that are more concentrated in water and stimulate blood circulation. We suggest the Gentle Scrub from the Ibbeo Cosmetics brand , with safflower vegetable oil and plum kernel powder.

A regular moisturizing mask is also an important boost: the one from Wild Sage and Co , with kaolin and flowers, is a little marvel of softness. Again, there are multi-action products: this is the case of the combined scrub and coffee mask by Grums and the Pureté exfoliating mask by Phyt's.

This minimalist routine can of course be adapted to suit your desires, but also your needs, which vary according to your menstrual cycle, the periods of your life or even the seasons!
