Adaptogens, what exactly are they?
Adaptogens are natural active ingredients that regulate the body. They are plants, roots, herbs and mushrooms that help to:
- improve resistance to stress
- improve concentration
- regulate the immune system and improve mood or reduce anxiety
- reduce the fatigue
They are called adaptogens because they "adapt" to the state of the body and can stimulate or calm it depending on the needs.
They have been known and used for thousands of years in traditional medicines.
Some of the most famous adaptogens include: ginseng, ashwaganda, shiitake mushrooms, turmeric, sea buckthorn (and other rosehips, wild rose, etc.).
Adaptogens are as interesting when taken orally as when applied externally. This is why we find them more and more in our cosmetics.
Key ingredients of Skin Pearls :
- Eleuthero: This root, considered the original adaptogen, is a multi-level aid for skin immunity. It is rich in polyphenols that provide protection against oxidative damage and inflammatory agents, contributing to a stronger skin barrier that is more resistant to external and internal stresses. It also has a positive effect on cell renewal and collagen production.
- Rhodiola Rosea: This plant, a lover of high altitudes and cliffs, is a true expert in survival. It is known to be an immunomodulator that improves levels of resistance to cold and stress, while naturally reducing the damage of UV rays in the dermis.
